Grout & Real Estate
By David Howie
I recently replaced the floor in one of the bathrooms in my house with new tile. I think it turned out good – what do you think?
Turned to the Experts
Since I have very limited experience with tiling, I turned to the experts on YouTube. There are lots of great tutorials on there for just about anything you can think of. In one of the videos I was watching about grouting, the contractor said, “There are 5 steps to a good grout job. Prep, prep, prep, grout, and clean up.”
Preparation
That really struck me. No matter how wonderful my grout technique is, it won’t work very well if the surface hasn’t been prepared to receive the grout. Preparation is super important. Not only in grouting a bathroom floor, but in everything. (How much time could you have saved if you had read the directions on that IKEA cabinet before trying to put it together?)
Choosing a Location
The same applies to choosing a location for your business. You already have a full plate operating your business – managing employees, ordering supplies and inventory, reducing expenses, serving customers, and promoting to prospects. So how can you give sufficient attention to scouting locations and understanding all the different types of lease options?
Talk to an Expert
That is where a real estate professional like me comes in. I can go over your wants and needs for what your space should be and what your budget is, and I can use my experience and resources to do the preparation work so that your business is ready to move in and hit the ground running.
So whether you’re needing to move out of your garage to your first store front or you’re looking to open your tenth location, or whether you need to downsize to a smaller place or upsize to a larger one, or whether you just need a change of scenery, please give me a call and we’ll talk about how I can help. And there’s no messy clean up required like with a grout job.
