Drax or Hinx?

Guardians Of The Galaxy and Commercial Real Estate

I recently watched the movies Guardians of the Galaxy I and II (which I find thoroughly enjoyable).  My favorite character in the movies was actually Drax.  I love his big laugh at weird, inappropriate moments, the way he takes himself so seriously, and most of all the irrepressible joy he has.  Plus he’s just super funny.

Drax & Hinx

Drax is actually played by Dave Bautista, who got his start in professional wrestling.  He’s now doing acting full time and also played the villain, Hinx, in the James Bond movie Spectre.  I actually wasn’t a big fan of that movie but thought that his character was the best part.

Could Not Be More Different Roles

I started thinking about these characters.  In a lot of ways, they couldn’t be more different.  Drax is loud and boisterous while Hinx literally says one word the whole film.  Drax is always shirtless while Hinx is impeccably dressed in a full suit.  Drax is joyful while Hinx is the definition of deadly serious.  But Bautista is able to play both well.  He’s able to use the gifts he has, his size and physical-ness, to bring a danger and menace to both characters even in very different ways.

What does this have to do with Commercial Real Estate?

So why do I say all that?  (Besides the fact that I just like talking about movies.)  I think real estate can be the same way.  There are many different commercial real estate needs.  Maybe you’re a small business looking to leave the home garage or looking to expand into a larger space.  Maybe you’re a big business looking for more exposure.  Maybe you’re a property owner wanting to take care of your property without handling it day to day.  Maybe you’re looking for some land on which to build.  Maybe you need office space or retail space or warehouse space.

Here to Help You

As a real estate professional, I can play those different roles.  I use my gifts and experience to apply to whatever you need.  Please give me a call, and I will be glad to discuss what your needs are and how I can help.

… So months after my original post I was reading an old Avengers comic from the 60’s or something and found that the origin story for Drax is that he’s a real estate agent killed by Thanos and then his spirit is used to form Drax the Destroyer whose sole purpose is to kill Thanos.  Obviously very different from the movie version but more rea l estate related than I realized!
